Daytime sessions
Daytime sessions are offered as 4 hours of support for singletons and 5-6 hours for multiples. These visits tend to be more hands on and allow for more one-on-one support as we explore:
general newborn care
lactation questions or concerns
all forms of feeding inquiries
nourishment for the postpartum body and family
physical and mental check-ins
any other topics that I am able to provide information or guidance around
This is also a time for parents to rest, have uninterrupted time together, spend time with older siblings, shower, or have some self-care time. With daytime sessions I prioritize supporting you in the most tangible ways possible.
Overnight sessions
Overnight sessions look different for every family depending on sleeping arrangements, nighttime feeding modalities and overall comfort for what will serve your family in the most optimal way. For little ones who are ready, I offer sleep guidance and coaching that is specifically tailored to each individual family’s preferred sleeping methods.
All overnight visits range from 8-10 hours in duration.
These sessions are an opportunity for parents to:
optimize sleep relief
receive lactation support during nighttime feedings
feel an overall sense of ease while having little one(s) cared for by a trusted professional
During this time household tasks are completed such as laundry, cleaning and sanitizing bottles, and meal prepping/cooking. While overnights tend to be a more tender time, I aim to refresh your household and remove what stressors I can so you have the opportunity to focus on resting and being present with little one(s) the following day.
Prenatal Support:
All packages come with 1 complimentary prenatal visit. This visit is used to begin the postpartum period preparation. Together we will assess your:
emotional and physical support systems
establish meal support via meal-trains and setting up your postpartum pantry
preparing your postpartum nest
talk about parenting styles, postpartum plans, delegated roles, sleeping arrangements
For more thorough postpartum planning I offer prenatal visits for extra support in whatever ways you may need. This may look like setting up the nursery, preparing batches of broths/stocks and nourishing meals for the postpartum recovery period, and guidance around expectations and contributions within your current family dynamic.
“We don’t know how we would have survived without Lakiah. She has been with us since our 10 week premature triplets came home from the hospital and every other night she was with the boys so we could sleep. Prior to her starting, I wondered how I would be able to sleep with someone in our home overnight caring for our fragile babies. From the first night, we felt safe, cared for, and loved. She is warm, calm, so knowledgeable, and truly cares for your whole family. She also approaches her work with a high level of professionalism while maintaining flexibility to accommodate our family's ever-changing needs. And she is extremely health and safety conscious and went above and beyond to implement safety measures to make sure our kids stayed healthy and weren't exposed to any unnecessary risks. We feel so blessed to have found her and couldn’t recommend her more.”
